Frequently asked questions
I blocked a number but it still rang. Why?
iOS never blocks numbers that are saved in your Contacts or numbers you have called recently. Remove the number from Contacts and Recents, and make sure BlockGuard is switched on under Call Blocking & Identification. In the app, Settings › Blocking diagnostics shows whether iOS received your list.
Which messages does the text filter check?
iOS sends only SMS and MMS from senders who are not in your Contacts to the filter. iMessages and messages from your contacts are never filtered. Filtered texts are kept in the Junk list of the Messages app.
Can BlockGuard read my messages or see who calls me?
No. iOS checks texts on your device and never shares your call history with apps. Nothing is uploaded.
How do I restore my Pro purchase?
Open BlockGuard › Settings › Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple ID you used to buy Pro. Pro is a one-time purchase and works on all your devices with that Apple ID.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my data?
All your data is stored on your device. Deleting the app removes it completely. See the Privacy Policy below for purchase records.
Still need help?

Terms of Use
1. Agreement
By downloading or using BlockGuard (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. The App
BlockGuard lets you block phone numbers and filter text messages on your iPhone using Apple’s Call Blocking and Message Filter features. Blocking and filtering are performed by iOS based on the lists and rules you choose. We cannot guarantee that every unwanted call or message will be blocked, or that no wanted message will be filtered. iOS does not block numbers saved in your contacts or numbers you have recently called.
3. BlockGuard Pro (in-app purchase)
- BlockGuard Pro is an optional one-time purchase. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase and processed by Apple.
- You can restore the purchase on any device signed in with the same Apple ID via Settings › Restore purchases.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and not to copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute it except as permitted by law or by the Standard EULA.
5. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including missed calls or messages, arising from the use of the App.

Privacy Policy
In short: BlockGuard works on your iPhone. We do not collect, store, sell or share your personal data, we have no access to your calls or messages, and there is no account, tracking, advertising or analytics.
1. Data stored on your device
Your block list, text filter settings, custom keywords, trusted and blocked senders, language and appearance preferences are stored only on your device, inside the App and its iOS extensions. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
2. Calls and messages
Call blocking uses Apple’s CallKit framework: the App gives iOS a list of numbers to block, and iOS does not tell the App who calls you or share your call history. Text filtering uses Apple’s Message Filter extension: iOS lets the extension examine SMS/MMS from unknown senders on your device to decide whether they go to Junk. Message contents never leave your device and are not stored by the App.
3. Data processed for purchases
If you buy BlockGuard Pro, Apple processes the payment. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to validate and restore purchases. RevenueCat receives:
- a random, anonymous app user ID generated on your device;
- purchase and transaction details from the App Store (such as product, price, currency and date);
- basic technical information (such as app version, iOS version, device model and country/region of your App Store account).
This data is used only to provide and restore your purchase. It is not linked to your name, phone number or contacts, and it is not used for advertising or tracking. RevenueCat processes it under its own Privacy Policy and provides the same level of protection required by this policy. Apple’s handling of payment data is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
4. What we do not do
- No user accounts and no sign-in.
- No advertising, no advertising identifiers and no tracking across other apps or websites (no App Tracking Transparency prompt is needed).
- No third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No sale or sharing of personal data.
5. Data retention and deletion
Data on your device stays until you change it in the App or delete the App; deleting the App removes it permanently. Purchase records held by RevenueCat are retained as long as needed to provide restores and to meet legal and accounting obligations. To request deletion of purchase records associated with your anonymous ID, email support@herofly.co; we will forward your request to RevenueCat.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Turkey’s KVKK or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data and to withdraw consent. Because we hold no personal data on our own servers, most requests are fulfilled by deleting the App; for purchase records, contact us at the address below.
7. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Security
Your data stays in your device’s sandbox and the App’s shared App Group container, protected by iOS security. Purchase data is transmitted to RevenueCat over encrypted connections.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the App’s release notes.
